3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE 1988 LITTLE ROCK
4 CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ELIMINATE PLUMBING, NATURAL GAS
5 AND MECHANICAL INSPECTIONS OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF
6 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS,for over thirty(30)years,the City has permitted and inspected plumbing,natural gas and
9 mechanical installations outside the City Limits of Little Rock;
10 WHEREAS, the City wishes to eliminate Plumbing. Natural Gas and Mechanical Permits and
H I Inspections outside the City Limits of Little Rock;
12 WHEREAS,the City has met on numerous occasions with other municipalities,local County and State
13 agencies to discuss this proposal;
14 WHEREAS, this ordinance amendment is necessary to eliminate these permitting and inspection
15 requirements;
16 NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1.The language in Section 8-471(b)(4)of the Little Rock Code of Ordinances is hereby deleted
19 and replaced by the following language:
20 Section 8-471 Short Title.
21 (b) Definitions
22 (4)Jurisdiction shall mean within the City limits of Little Rock.
23 Section 2. The Language in Section 8-536 (bX4) of the Little Rock Code of Ordinances is hereby
24 deleted and replaced by the following language:

26 (b)Definitions
27 (4)Jurisdiction shall mean the City limits of Little Rock.
28 Section 3.Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
29 of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication
30 shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
31 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the ordinance.
32 Section 4.Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
