HomeMy WebLinkAbout14330 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,330 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD 4 A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN 6 THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE AND 90/100 DOLLARS 7 ($647,129.90), FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO POTTER STREET, FROM 8 COLONEL GLENN ROAD TO 40TH STREET; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES 10 11 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for improvements to Potter Street, from Colonel Glenn Road to 40th 12 Street,Project No. 13-6-07A, Bid No. 16009; and, 13 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting 14 specifications. 15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers 18 Construction, Inc., for improvements to Potter Street, from Colonel Glenn Road to 40th Street, in an 19 amount not to exceed Six Hundred Forty-Seven Thousand, One Hundred Twenty-Nine and 90/100 20 Dollars ($647,129.90), which is the base bid amount of Five Hundred Thirty-Nine Thousand, Two 21 Hundred Seventy-Four and 92/100 Dollars($539,274.92), plus 20% contingencies. 22 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is from the %-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 23 Compensating Use Tax Funds and the 2013 Capital Improvements Bonds for Streets and Drainage as 24 authorized by Resolution No. 13,699 and amended by Resolution No. 14,269. 25 SECTION 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 26 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 29 resolution. 30 SECTION 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 32 SECTION 5.
