Home My WebLink About14295 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,295 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH MID-ARK ROOFING,INC.,IN AN AMOUNT 5 NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED NINE THOUSAND, NINE DOLLARS 6 ($109,009.00), FOR NEW ROOFING FOR NINE (9) BUILDINGS AT THE 7 LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, protection of the structural integrity of several buildings at the Little Rock Zoo and 10 compliance with USDA Building Maintenance Requirements requires that new roofs be installed for nine 11 (9)structures; and, 12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock requested bids for construction of the required improvements, 13 including labor and materials for the installation of new roofing for the Visitor Services and Guest Services 14 Buildings; the Ringtail and Tortoise Building; the Old Keeper Building; the Event Storage Building; the 15 Crane Holding Building; the Tent Building; the Warthog Holding Building; and the Hay Barn Building; 16 and, 17 WHEREAS, Mid-Ark Roofing, Inc., submitted the lowest responsive bid for the requested 18 construction in the amount of Ninety-Nine Thousand,Ninety-Nine Dollars($99,099.00). 19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Mid-Ark Roofing, 22, Inc. for new roofing for nine(9)buildings at the Little Rock Zoo in an amount not to exceed One Hundred 23 Nine Thousand, Nine Dollars ($109,009.00), which is the base bid amount of Ninety-Nine Thousand, 24 Ninety-Nine Dollars($99,099.00),plus 10%for contingencies. 25 Section 2. Funding for this project will be paid from the Zoo's 3/8-Cent Tax Account, Special Project 26 326659-TS65A71. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
