3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LOSE & ASSOCIATES, IN THE AMOUNT
5 OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($150,000.00) FOR
6 THE PURPOSE OF UPDATING THE 2001 MASTERS PARKS PLAN;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the 2001 Little Rock Parks and Recreation Master Plan has not been updated since its
10 creation;and,
11 WHEREAS,Park industry standards recommend that master plans be updated every ten(10)years to
12 ensure service levels are still relevant and appropriate; and,
13 WHEREAS,a relevant and updated Parks Master Plan is also essential to qualifying for accreditation
14 for parks and recreation agencies; and,
15 WHEREAS, an approved Consultant Selection Commission received four (4) submissions for
16 consideration as consultants to perform the update and Lose &Associates was determined to be the most
17 qualified for a contract in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($150,000.00);and,
18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1: The Board of Directors hereby approves a contract with Lose & Associates to update the
21 2001 Little Rock Parks and Recreation Master Plan in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand
22 Dollars($150,000.00).
23 Section 2: Funding was appropriated in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
24 ($150,000.00) in 2015 Budget for these purposes. .
25 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
