HomeMy WebLinkAbout14282 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,282 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND 4 A CONTRACT WITH THE ARKANSAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE — 5 MUNICIPAL VEHICLE PROGRAM, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO 6 EXCEED THREE HUNDRED SEVEN THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED 7 EIGHTY-THREE AND 23/100 DOLLARS ($307,483.23); TO 8 ADMINISTER A SELF-INSURANCE PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF 9 LITTLE ROCK'S MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY INSURANCE 10 INCLUDING COMPENSATION AND COLLISION COVERAGE FOR 11 CURRENT VEHICLES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock currently has a contract with the Arkansas Municipal League— 14 Municipal Vehicle Program to administer a Self-Insurance Program for the City of Little Rock's Motor 15 Vehicle Liability Insurance including Compensation and Collision Coverage for current vehicles; and, 16 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to 17 extend the City's current contract to administer the Self-Insurance Program at a total cost of Three 18 Hundred Seven Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-Three and 23/100 Dollars ($307,483.23) for this 19 purchase; and, 20 WHEREAS, this purchase will provide motor vehicle liability and/or compensation and collision 21 insurance for the City's motor vehicles from January 21, 2016,to December 31, 2016; 22 WHEREAS, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 23 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to extend the contract with the 25 Arkansas Municipal League—Municipal Vehicle Program to administer a Self-Insurance Program for the 26 City of Little Rock's Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance including Compensation and Collision Coverage 27 for current vehicles at a total cost of Three Hundred Seven Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-Three and 28 23/100 Dollars($307,483.23). 29 Section 2. Additional vehicles will be purchased throughout 2016; therefore, staff may come before 30 the Board with an adjustment in cost; 31 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are allocated in Fleet Services 2016 Operating Account. 32 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or [Page 1 of 2] 1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 3 resolution. 4 Section 5. Repealer.
