HomeMy WebLinkAbout119371 2 RESOLUTION NO. 11,937 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A FIFTEEN 4 THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT 115 5 NORTH STATE STREET FOR THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT 6 DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, Little Rock's Economic Development Manager identified as 9 appropriate for the General Government Department's immediate expansion needs, a 10 fifteen thousand square foot parcel with a two thousand forty square foot structure 11 located at State and LaHarpe Streets in Little Rock, more particularly described in 12 Attachment "A," and 13 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors authorized the use of short -term 14 financing in an amount not to exceed One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars for the 15 purchase of this parcel, and 16 WHEREAS, the owner of the described fifteen thousand square foot parcel is 17 willing to sell the property to the City of Little Rock for One Hundred Twenty -Five 18 Thousand Dollars. 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The Board hereby approves the purchase of the fifteen thousand 22 square foot parcel of land set out herein for the General Government Department for 23 the amount of One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars, and the Mayor and City 24 Clerk are authorized to execute all documents necessary for said purchase. 25 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available pursuant to Little Rock 26 Ordinance No. 19,290, authorizing the issuance of a promissory note to provide short- 27 term financing under Amendment No. 78 to the Arkansas Constitution. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 3 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 4 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 5 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 6 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 7 resolution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
