HomeMy WebLinkAbout14216 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,216 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 4 A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH JEWELL 5 ENGINEERS, INC., D/B/A LANDMARK ENGINEERING & SURVEYING, 6 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND, 7 TWENTY DOLLARS ($76,020.00) FOR A SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT 8 PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES 9 10 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 13,699, set forth the list of Street and Drainage Projects for 2013, 2014 11 and 2015 Infrastructure Improvement Program that included sidewalk improvement projects in Wards 1 12 and 7; and, 13 WHEREAS, it is desirable to also construct sidewalk improvements in Ward 3 within the existing 14 funding allocations for Ward 3 as set forth in Resolution No. 13,699; 15 AND, Jewell Engineers, Inc., d/b/a Landmark Engineering & Surveying, was selected through a 16 statement of qualification process, Bid No. 14201 to provide Engineering Design Survey Services and 17 On-Call Construction Phase Services for Sidewalk Improvement Projects in Wards 1, 3 and 7. 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Jewell 21 Engineers, Inc., d/b/a Landmark Engineering & Surveying, to provide Engineering Design and Survey 22 Services for Sidewalk Improvements in amount not to exceed Seventy-Six Thousand, Twenty Dollars 23 ($76,020.00). 24 SECTION 2. The following projects are authorized for engineering services by Jewell Engineers, 25 Inc., d/b/a Landmark Engineering& Surveying: 26 • 13-1-71: Wright Avenue Sidewalk; Rice Street to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive, Ward 1 27 • 13-7-050B: South Meadowcliff Sidewalk; Sheraton Drive to Greenway Drive, Ward 7 28 • 16-3-SW-80: Markham Multi-Use Trail; Woodrow Street to Boone Street, Ward 3 29 • 16-4-SW-101: Sandpiper Sidewalk; McKinley Street to Hughes Street, Ward 3 30 SECTION 3. Funding for the contract is from the 2013 Capital Improvement Bonds for Streets and 31 Drainage as authorized by Resolution No. 13,699. 32 SECTION 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 33 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or [Page 1 of 21 1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 3 resolution. 4 SECTION 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 5 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 6 SECTION 6.
