3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO SHIELDS AND ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR THE
5 YARBERRY LANE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT
6 TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND, EIGHT
7 HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE AND 60/100 DOLLARS ($462,861.60); AND FOR
8 OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Yarberry Lane Improvement Project from Chicot Road to Deer
11 Meadow Drive,Project Number 13-7-057, Bid Number 15-005; and,
12 WHEREAS, Shields and Associates, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for Shields and
17 Associates, Inc., for the Yarberry Lane Improvement Project for Four Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand,
18 Eight Hundred Sixty-One and 60/100 Dollars ($462,861.60), which is the base bid amount of Three
19 Hundred Eighty-Five Thousand, Seven Hundred Eighteen Dollars ($385,718.00), plus 20%
20 contingencies.
21 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is from the %-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and
22 Compensating Use Tax Funds.
23 SECTION 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase,
24 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 SECTION 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
29 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
30 SECTION 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
