HomeMy WebLinkAbout118331 2 RESOLUTION NO. 11,833 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF AIR PACKS FOR 4 THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BE FUNDED THROUGH 5 FEDERAL TERRORISM EQUIPMENT GRANT FUNDS; AND FOR 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, since September 11, 2001, the City has become eligible for several 9 fire service, emergency preparedness, hazardous materials, and bomb team equipment 10 grants, and 11 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department is in need of Air Packs and Air 12 Cylinders, which are eligible items for these grants, and 13 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received bids under Bid #4286 for the 14 purchase of the Air Packs and Air Cylinders, and the lowest responsible and responsive 15 bid meeting minimum specifications was received from Pro -Fire Equipment in the 16 amount of One Hundred Twenty -eight Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty -two and 17 no /100 Dollars ($128,832.00). 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter 21 into a contract with Pro -Fire Equipment, for the purchase of Air Packs and Air 22 Cylinders for the Fire Department in the amount of One Hundred Twenty -eight 23 Thousand, Eight Hundred Thirty -two and no /100 Dollars ($128,832.00). 24 Section 2. Funds for these purchases are to be allocated from the Federal 25 Terrorism Grant Funds. [PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution To purchase fire department equipment With federal terrorism grant funds 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, 2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or 3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 6 resolution. 7 Section 4. Repealer.
