3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH A-DEMOLITION COMPANY, IN THE
5 AMOUNT OF EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($83,000.00),
6 FOR THE DEMOLITION OF A CONDEMNED STRUCTURE LOCATED
7 AT 8500 MIZE ROAD IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the building located at 8500 Mize Road was declared unsafe in 2012 and proper notice
11 was given to the owners of record to take appropriate action to raze and remove or repair the structure;
12 and,
13 WHEREAS, the current owner has not removed the building and it remains in a state of disrepair;
14 and,
15 WHEREAS, a condemnation action was filed and the structure was condemned in September 2014
16 by Ordinance No. 29,934; and
17 WHEREAS, bids were advertised for the demolition and removal of the structure, and the lowest
18 responsible and responsive bid was received from A-Demolition Company in the amount of Eighty-Three
19 Thousand Dollars($83,000.00).
20 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
23 A-Demolition Company for the demolition and removal of the building at 8500 Mize Road at a cost of
24 Eighty-Three Thousand Dollars($83,000.00).
25 Section 2. Funds for this contract are allocated in the Commercial Demolition account 108359 63390
26 S34A130.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
33 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
