3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE
4 A CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND
5 TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT PROJECT FOR ROADWAY
6 IMPROVEMENTS TO CANTRELL ROAD FROM MISSISSIPPI STREET
7 TO THE PERRYVILLE ROAD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

9 WHEREAS,the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department(AHTD) is undertaking a project
10 to widen and improve State Highway 10, Cantrell Road from Mississippi Street to the Perryville Road;
11 and,
12 WHEREAS, AHTD has made a request to the City to contribute a local share of the project cost;
13 and,
14 WHEREAS,the City Board of Directors has determined that it is in the best interests of the City and
15 its inhabitants for the City to contribute to the project cost.
16 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute agreements if
19 needed, in a form approved by the City Attorney, and to contribute funding to AHTD for the project to
20 widen Cantrell Road from Mississippi Street to the Perryville Road, AHTD Project No. 061194.
21 Section 2. Funding is to be from the 10% set aside for City-wide projects of the 2013 Capital
22 Improvement Bonds for Streets and Drainage. Amount authorized is One Million, Forty-Nine Thousand,
23 Four Hundred Forty and 80/100 Dollars ($1,049,440.80), which is the initial amount requested of Nine
24 Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand, Thirty Seven and 09/100 Dollars($954,037.09), plus a 10% contingency.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
31 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
