3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR WEST 10TH STREET
4 IMPROVEMENTS, ABIGAIL STREET-WASHINGTON STREET
5 PROJECT NO. 13-B-2D; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for West 10th Street Improvements, Abigail Street-Washington
8 Street Project No. 13-B-2D, Bid No. 14-141; and,
9 WHEREAS, Shields & Associates, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
10 specifications in the amount Three Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand, One Hundred Sixty-Eight and
11 32/100 Dollars ($322,168.32), Two Hundred Sixty-Eight, Four Hundred Seventy-Three and 60/100
12 Dollars($268,473.60) plus 20%contingencies;
13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for Shields & Associates,
16 Inc. for West 10th Street Improvements, Abigail Street-Washington Street Project No. 13-B-2D, No. Bid
17 14-141. Amount for construction services is Three Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand, One Hundred Sixty-
18 Eight and 32/100 Dollars ($322,168.32), Two Hundred Sixty-Eight, Four Hundred Seventy-Three and
19 60/100 Dollars($268,473.60) plus 20% contingencies;
20 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the 2012 %-Cent Capital Sales Tax Project
21 Funds.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
29 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
