3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF GROUNDS
4 EQUIPMENT FOR CITY GOLF COURSES IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX
5 HUNDRED NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY-
6 SEVEN AND 38/100 DOLLARS ($697,147.38); TO REPEAL RESOLUTION
7 NO. 13,890; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department needs to purchase equipment to
10 maintain the grounds at City Golf Courses,and has determined that the most effective and economical way
11 to do so is to a purchase the equipment from Jerry Pate Turf and Irrigation, Inc., pursuant to a State Bid
12 Contract;and,
13 WHEREAS,the total amount of the purchase price is Six Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand, One
14 Hundred Forty-Seven and 38/100 Dollars ($697,147.38);
15 WHEREAS, by adoption of Resolution No. 13, 890 (May 20, 2014)this board previously-approved
16 the purchase of this equipment by a lease purchase agreement in the amount of Seven Hundred and Nineteen
17 Thousand and 64/100 Dollars($719,000.64)to be paid from the 5/8-Cent Operational Sales and Use Tax;
18 however, such lease purchase agreement has not been entered into and such a lease purchase funding shall
19 not be used for the purchase of this equipment in light of the direct purchase approved herein;
20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase the necessary equipment from Jerry Pate Turf
23 and Irrigation, Inc., pursuant to terms available to the City through Sate Contract.
24 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are allocated as a part of the 3/8-Cent Capital Sales and
25 Compensating Use Tax.
26 Section 3. Resolution No. 13,890 is hereby repealed.
27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 5.Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
