HomeMy WebLinkAbout13866 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,866 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND 4 THE EXISTING CONTRACT WITH RISK MANAGEMENT 5 RESOURCES TO PROVIDE THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR 6 SERVICES FOR THE SELF-FUNDED WORKERS' COMPENSATION 7 PROGRAM FOR A THREE (3)-YEAR PERIOD EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 8 2014; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City operates a Self-Funded Workers' Compensation Program and in order to 11 ensure proper processing of claims a Third Party Administrator is utilized; and, 12 WHEREAS, in response to a recent request for proposals (RFP), Risk Management Resources 13 (RMR),the incumbent provider for these services, has proposed a renewal of their contract at a rate lower 14 than other options, and fees for their services have not changed in four(4)years; and, 15 WHEREAS, RMR's proposed renewal represents a total cost less than the next lowest cost from the 16 most recent RFP and the new rates are guaranteed for the remaining three (3)years of the maximum term 17 noted in the RFP; 18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the existing contract with Risk Management 21 Resources to provide Third-Party Administrator services for the City's Self-Funded Workers' 22 Compensation Program at rate of Seventy-Two Thousand Dollars ($72,000.00) per year with the rate to 23 be guaranteed for the remaining three (3) years of the maximum term noted in the most recent RFP 24 effective July 1, 2014. 25 Section 2. Funds required for this coverage were budgeted in the 2014 Budget line item for Workers' 26 Compensation. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be 28 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 29 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 30 unconstitutional were not originally a part of this resolution. 31 Section 4. Repealer.
