3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO JCI CONSTRUCTION,
4 INC., TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE TRAIN TRACK AT THE
5 LITTLE ROCK ZOO; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
6 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH JCI CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR
7 SUCH SERVICES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo's current train track no longer meets necessary safety standards and
10 does not offer ADA accessibility, and
11 WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals and JCI Construction, Inc., was the low bidder,
12 and
13 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Zoo and safety of Zoo guests to award a contract to JCI
14 Construction,Inc.,to provide the services to remove and replace train track.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to JCI Construction, Inc., to provide the
18 needed services to remove old track and install new track for the Little Rock Zoo pursuant to Request for
19 Proposals No. 14,111 for a total contract amount not to exceed Three Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand,Nine
20 Hundred Twenty-Seven and 75/100 Dollars ($366,927.75), plus 10% to allow change orders, if needed,
21 for a total amount of Four Hundred Three Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty and 52/100 Dollars
22 ($403,620.52) and authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract, in a form acceptable to the City
23 Attorney, for such services.
24 Section 2. The funds for the contract are to come from the following Zoo accounts: Two Hundred
25 Four Thousand Dollars ($204,000) GIF, Thirty-Five Thousand, Nine Hundred Forty Dollars($35,940.00)
26 Special Projects 108659 - S71 B531 and One Hundred Sixty-Three Thousand, Six Hundred Eighty and
27 52/100 Dollars($163,680.52)Capital Expenses for a total of Four Hundred Three Thousand, Six Hundred
28 Twenty and 52/100 Dollars($403,620.52).
29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
31 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and ef-
32 fest as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
33 resolution.

1 Section 4.Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this res-
2 olution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
