13827 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,827 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLUFF CITY SPORTS, IN THE AMOUNT 5 OF EIGHTY THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR AND 85/100 6 DOLLARS ($80,934.85), FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE 2014 LITTLE 7 ROCK MARATHON PARTICIPANT AND VOLUNTEER SHIRTS; AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,the 12th Annual Little Rock Marathon will be held February 28—March 2, 2013; and, 11 WHEREAS, an estimated 15,000 participants, an estimated 3,500 volunteers, and approximately 12 30,000 spectators from all fifty (50) states and over thirty (30) countries around the world will converge 13 upon Little Rock; and, 14 WHEREAS, as a part of their registration, participants and volunteers will receive a t-shirt to 15 commemorate their participation in the 2014 event; and, 16 WHEREAS,the City issued Public Bid #13174 to solicit and obtain competitive bids from qualified 17 printing companies with experience in printing marathon or half marathon shirts in order to obtain the 18 most responsive and responsible bid, 19 WHEREAS, seven (7) companies submitted qualifications and bids, two (2) of which were qualified 20 vendors, with Bluff City Sports submitting the low bid in the amount of Eighty Thousand,Nine Hundred 21 Thirty-Four and 85/100 Dollars($80,934.85); and, 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 25 Bluff City Sports, for the purchase of 2014 Little Rock Marathon Commemorative T-Shirts in the amount 26 of Eighty Thousand,Nine Hundred Thirty-Four and 85/100 Dollars($80,934.85). 27 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Marathon Special Project Account 28 #210-459-S00B268. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution. 34 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 35 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
