13802 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,802 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CONTRACT WITH AMERIPRIDE 4 UNIFORM & LINEN TO PROVIDE UNIFORM PANTS FOR THE 5 LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL FOR FISCAL 6 YEARS 2013 AND 2014; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department has been under contract with a rental vendor for the 9 past five (5) years to provide uniform pants for the Fire Department Personnel and the existing rental 10 contract will expire on January 1, 2014; and, 11 WHEREAS, Little Rock Fire Department Administration has determined that it will be more 12 efficient and cost effective to purchase and stock its own uniforms, as it is anticipated that after the initial 13 purchase the cost in subsequent years will be less than current rental rates; and, 14 WHEREAS,the City advertised Bid No. 13168 to solicit proposals for the purchase of 2,000 pairs of 15 uniform pants for Fire Department Personnel for Fiscal Years 2013 and 2014, and AmeriPride Uniform & 16 Linen submitted the most responsible and responsive bid for this contract, for the purchase of 2,000 pairs 17 of uniform pants at a cost of Eighty-Nine Dollars($89.00) per pair; and, 18 WHEREAS, the contract will span fiscal years 2013 and 2014 with all pants to be delivered no later 19 than January 31, 2014, and will not exceed One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00), plus 20 tax; 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with AmeriPride Uniform & 24 Linen, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00) plus tax, for the 25 purchase of 2,000 pairs of Fire Department Uniform Pants at a cost of Eighty-Nine Dollars ($89.00) per 26 pair for Fiscal Years 2013 and 2014. 27 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are to be allocated from the Fire Department's General Budget. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be 29 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 30 resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 31 unconstitutional were not originally a part of this resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any 33 provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
