3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH HASTY AWARDS OF OTTAWA, KANSAS,
5 IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED
6 FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($52,715.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE 2014
7 LITTLE ROCK MARATHON FINISHERS MEDALS; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, participants come to the Little Rock Marathon to take home one of the Race's
11 celebrated Finishers Medal, which was crowned by Runner's World Magazine in 2005 as the "largest
12 finisher's medal in the world"; and,
13 WHEREAS,bids for these much sought after medals were received from nine (9)vendors and Hasty
14 Awards of Ottawa, Kansas, submitted the lowest bid and most responsive bid in the amount of Fifty-Two
15 Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifteen Dollars($52,715.00); and,
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
19 Hasty Awards of Ottawa, Kansas, for the purchase of 2014 Little Rock Marathon Finishers Medals in the
20 amount of Fifty-Two Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifteen Dollars($52,715.00).
21 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Marathon Special Project Account.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
28 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
