C I R c/,� 4 OFFERED FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, ; , z O 5 TO BE USED FOR WRIGHT AVENUE ALERT CENTER; AND FOR 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 LouNrr `' 8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors adopted Resolution No. 8,687 on April 7, 1992 establishing 9 Neighborhood Alert Centers throughout the City; and, 10 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this goal it is required that properties be obtained by the City in 11 areas that are appropriate for Neighborhood Alert Centers; and, 12 WHEREAS, the of Housing & Neighborhood Programs Department has identified a parcel of 13 property located at 1813 Wright Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas, which can be used to fulfill the City's 14 stated goals; and, 15 WHEREAS,the parcel is a 6,098 square-foot lot, with a structure; and, 16 WHEREAS, City Staff has obtained a full title search on the property which revealed valid title and 17 no significant title issues; and, 18 WHEREAS, City Staff has performed an environmental assessment of the property pursuant to 24 19 C.F.R. § 58,et seq. (2003),which revealed no environmental problems; and, 20 WHEREAS, an appraisal was obtained from Ferstl Valuation Services which valued the property at 21 $100,000.00; and, 22 WHEREAS, the owner of the property has agreed to sell the property for the purchase price of 23 $100,000.00; and, 24 WHEREAS,there are no outstanding City liens against the property; and, 25 WHEREAS, pursuant to State Law, the City must obtain authority to purchase property by a 26 resolution adopted by the Board of Directors; 27 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 28 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 29 Section 1. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14-54-302(c) (West Supp. 2010), the Board of Directors 30 hereby adopts this Resolution to authorize the purchase and accept title to the property located at 1813 31 Wright Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas. [Page 1 oft[ 1 Section 2. The Board of Directors, pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14-54-302(c) (West Supp. 2010), 2 hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute any documents necessary to complete the 3 purchase of the property. 4 Section 3. Once acquired, this property shall be used for a public purpose, specifically for Wright 5 Avenue Neighborhood Alert Center. 6 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 7 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 8 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 9 effect a if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 10 ordinance. 11 Section 5.Repealer.
