3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE
4 CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES FOR YOUTH TO PROVIDE
5 YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY, EVALUATION, TECHNICAL
6 ASSISTANCE, AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION SERVICES;
7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
10 intervention and treatment services to enhance public safety, community- building, and
11 youth development for Little Rock residents; and
12 WHEREAS, the current contract with New Futures for Youth has an option for
13 one additional one -year extension based on their performance and Little Rock Board of
14 Directors appropriations.
15 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
16 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with New
18 Futures for Youth for one year to provide youth employability, technical assistance, and
19 violence prevention services to Little Rock residents.
20 Section 2. The term of the contract extension shall be for one year, from January
21 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005.
22 Section 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $195,000 and shall come
23 from prevention, intervention and treatment funds, account number 105 - 035 -T301.
24 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
25 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
26 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remaining full force and

I effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
2 originally a part of this resolution.
3 Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
4 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
