12106I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,106 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH UNITED HEALTH CARE 5 TO PROVIDE HEALTH INSURANCE TO THE EMPLOYEES 6 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS FOR A TWELVE (12) MONTH 7 PERIOD EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2006; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. E 10 WHEREAS, United Health Care has submitted a proposal to provide 11 health care coverage for City employees for a twelve (12) month period effective 12 January 1, 2006, and 13 WHEREAS, a review of this proposal by the Employee Health Care Task 14 Force indicates that the best combination of benefits and premium is represented 15 by the proposal submitted by United Health Care. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF 17 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with 19 United Health Care to provide health insurance to the employees of the City of 20 Little Rock, Arkansas for a twelve (12) month period effective January 1, 2006. 21 Section 2. Funds for the cost of the employee coverage, and a portion of 22 the dependent coverage, will be included as a line item in the 2006 City budget. 23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is 24 declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or [PAGE 1 OF 2] Resolution United Health Care I adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall 2 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 3 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 4 Section 4. Repealer.
