A RESOLUTION STATING THE POLICY OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK THAT NO ZONING APPLICATIONS WILL BE
RECONSIDERED BY THE BOARD UNLESS AN EXTREME
EMERGENCY IS SHOWN; REAFFIRMING THE BOARD' S
PREVIOUS POLICY WITH REGARD TO TIME LIMITA-
TIONS ON ZONING RECONSIDERATIONS ; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the credibility of the Board of Directors is
being harmed by its reconsideration of zoning applications where
a former application embracing the same property or a portion
thereof has been denied by the Board; and
WHEREAS , the action of reconsidering a previously denied
zoning application, especially within a period of six weeks or
less from the date of its denial , creates an appearance of
impropriety on the part of the Board; and
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the Board of Directors
to give citizens a chance to exercise all their options to be
considered and heard on any particular zoning application or
matter ; and
WHEREAS , it is not the desire of the Board of Directors to
deny reconsideration of any matter on which a mistake has been
made in its presentation to the Board.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . All zoning matters which the Board has already
discussed reconsidering and all zoning reconsiderations pending
before the Board on the effective date of this Resolution will
be acted on but otherwise no zoning matters will be reconsidered
by the Board except those on which a mistake has been made by
the staff or other parties during their presentation of the matter
to the Board or those which fall within the time limitations
established by the bylaws of the Little Rock Planning Commission.

Section 2 . The Board hereby reaffirms its policy of
accepting for reconsideration those zoning matters which are
reconsidered by the Planning Commission more than twelve months
after their first application pursuant to the Planning Commission
Bylaws .
Section 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval.
