A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE FIRM OF
TOWNLEY-WILLIAMS-BLAIR, ARCHITECTS, INC . ,
AS THE PROJECT ARCHITECT FOR THE FIRE
STATION TO BE LOCATED AT SHACKLEFORD ROAD
AND SHACKLEFORD PLAZA; AUTHORIZING
NEGOTIATIONS FOR COMPLETE DESIGN SERVICES,
COMPLETE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION FOR THIS PROJECT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT WITH TOWNLEY-WILLIAMS-
BLAIR AS ARCHITECTS FOR DESIGN OF THE
NEW FIRE STATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department was asked to help with
the selection of an architectural firm for design of a new fire
station to be located at Shackleford Road and Shackleford Plaza;
and
WHEREAS, eighteen architectural firms were asked to respond
if interested in being selected as Project Architect; and
WHEREAS, eight firms presented a short presentation to the
Selection Committee on February 18, 1981 ; and
WHEREAS, the Committee chose the firm of
Townley-Williams-Blair, Architects, Inc. , to be the project
design firm.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . The firm of Townley-Williams-Blair, Architects,
Inc. , is hereby designated as the project architect for a new
fire station to be located at Shackleford Road and Shackleford
Plaza .
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Townley-Williams-Blair, as architects for
design of a new fire station.
SECTION 3. Authorization is hereby given to begin
negotiations for complete design services, complete plans and
specifications, and construction supervision for the project.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval .
