A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A BID FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF A BIG CAT DISPLAY AT THE ZOO OF ARKANSAS
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A
CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BIG CAT
DISPLAY AT THE ZOO OF ARKANSAS; STATING THE
CITY 'S COMMITMENT TO ADVANCE FUNDS FOR THE
BIG CAT DISPLAY PROJECT TO BE REPAID WHEN
GRANT FUNDS ARE RECEIVED; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City' s grant application to HCRS was
approved for $347, 500 in federal funds, contingent upon the
City' s obtaining matching funds of equal value ; and
WHEREAS, at the present time the City is seeking
$350, 000 in State aid in order to be able to match the
$347, 500 HCRS grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . The bid for construction of the Big Cat
Display as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto is hereby
accepted , and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with the bidder named on the attached
exhibit for a total contract price as set out for
construction of the Big Cat Display at the Zoo of Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The City hereby states its commitment to
advance funds for the Big Cat Display Project to be repaid
to the City when grant funds are received .
SECTION 3. All work purchased herein shall comply with
the bidding specifications. Upon completion of the work or
from time to time as may be required , the City Manager and
the Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed
to issue the necessary warrants in payment of the contract
price.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval .
