RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 438
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS , TO BUDGET
AND APPROPRIATE NOT LESS THAN THE SUM OF
$510, 000 FOR THE YEAR 1981 TO BE USED IN
DEFRAYING THE COST OF THE PUBLIC MASS
TRANSPORATION SYSTEM OWNED BY THE CITIES OF
LITTLE ROCK, NORTH LITTLE ROCK AND PULASKI
COUNTY, ARKANSAS , AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS , for the calendar and fiscal year 1980 , Pulaski
County, North Little Rock and Little Rock, Arkansas , being
the owners of the public mass transporation system serving
Little Rock, North Little Rock and other areas of Pulaski
County, have each appropriated revenue used to sustain and
support the said system respectively in the amount of
$251, 000 , $105, 000 and $502 , 000 for a total public support
of $858 ,000 ; and
WHEREAS , Pulaski County and the Cities of Little Rock
and North Little Rock recognize the continuing need for
public financial support to said system for the calendar
year 1981 ; and
WHEREAS , the Urban Mass Transportation Administration
of the United States Department of Transporation has advised
that commitments to provide public financial support to the
system in advance of legal appropriations would be accepted
by that agency allowing processing of applications for
federal funds and grant contracts prior to January 1 of the
year in which funds are to be paid, thus expediting the
receipt of such funds by the operating agency; and
WHEREAS , Pulaski County and the Cities of Little Rock
and North Little Rock, Arkansas , desire to take every
feasible affirmative action in an effort to obtain federal
grant monies at the beginning of each year rather than at
the end of the year, thus hopefully avoiding the need for
the system to periodically borrow money for operating
purposes .

NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I . The City of Little Rock, Arkansas , hereby
declares its intent to budget and appropriate not less than
the sum of $510 , 000 for the year 1980 to be used in
defraying the cost of operating the public mass
transportation system owed by the City of Little Rock and
North Little Rock, Arkansas , and Pulaski County, Arkansas ,
and serving the areas of Little Rock, North Little Rock and
other areas of Pulaski County, Arkansas .
SECTION II . This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval.
