A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN OFFER TO
PURCHASE LOTS 1 , 2, 3 , 10, 11 AND 12 OF
BLOCK 7, POPE 'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE DEEDS FOR LOTS 1 , 2, 3 , 10 , 11
AND 12 OF BLOCK 7, POPE 'S ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Real Estate Officer has received offers
for the purchase of Lots 1 , 2 , 3, 10, 11 and 12, Block 7, Pope 's
Addition to the City of Little Rock, presently owned by the City,
and offers received pursuant thereto are attached as exhibits;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Lots 1 , 2, 3 , 10 , 11
and 12, Block 7, Pope ' s Addition to the City of Little Rock
comprise surplus property which is not needed for public
purposes, and that it is desirable to dispose of said property at
this time ; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors to
consider the proposed land use and authorize the sale of such
surplus property to the buyer who by proposed land use and
offered price makes offer which will best promote the public
welfare of the citizens of the City; and
WHEREAS, the most beneficial offer has been determined .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . The offer of McOsker-Gardner Company and Markham
Tower East to purchase Lots 1, 2, 3 , 10, 11 and 12 , Block 7 ,
Pope ' s Addition to the City of Little Rock is hereby accepted for
purchase of $ 66, 000 as shown on the attached exhibit.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute deeds
for the above described property.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption and approval .

Dear Mr. Riley:
We would like to offer $66,000.00 for Lots 1, 2, 3 and 10, 11, 12,
Block 7, Popes Addition to the City of Little Rock.
We originally leased this land on September 22, 1967 and in October
of that year, had part of it paved and marked for parking.
Our intended use for the property is to have it remain a parking
lot for the tenants of Markham Tower East, which it has been for 13
years. We intend, at some future date, to pave and mark the remaining
area for parking also.
Markham Tower East is owned by Westside Mini Storage Company, an
Arkansas Partnership.
Please contact me if this offer is accepted or if you have any
further questions.

Dear Board Members:
We wish to make an offer to purchase from the City of Little Rock the follow-
ing property.
Legal description: Lots 10, 11, & 12 of Block 7 of Pope's Addition to the
City of Little Rock. This is the southwest quarter of
the block bounded on the west by Commerce, north by
Markham, east by Sherman, and south by Second Street.
Amount of offer: $40,000.00
Method of payment: Cash on receipt of clear title.
Proposed use of land: To construct a brick exterior office facility of
approximately 6,000 square feet with adjacent parking.
This building will house our company, McOsker-Gardner
Company, Inc. Food Brokers.
Construction starting date: As soon as possible after disposition of current
building located at 1306 West Fourth Street.
We would also offer an additional $25,000.00 for the purchase of the south-
east corner of the same block (Lots 1. 2, f, 3 of Block 7, Pope's Addition to
the City of Little Rock) as additional space for future growth and expansion.
It is possible that we would be in a position to build an additional building
or buildings on that land in the not too distant future. .
We do not want the additional offer to buy Lots 1, 2, F, 3 of Block 7 to
interfere with our initial proposal to buy Lots 10, 11, E, 12 of Block 7.
We have the utmost interest in promoting the growth of downtown Little Rock,
and intend to construct a facility that will be a positive step in enhancing
the area to future construction.
