6385 RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 385
A RESOLUTION COMMITTING CITY FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $7, 351 AS THE CITY' S MATCHING
FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE LITTLE ROCK
POLICE DEPARTMENT DETENTION FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the City ' s detention facility has had no
major improvements since its construction in 1960; and
WHEREAS, when juvenile inmates are housed in the
facility it is necessary to place them in cells in the general
area of the center where they are in visual and audible contact
with adult inmates; and
WHEREAS, such contact is in conflict with State of
Arkansas minimum standards for short term facilities; and
WHEREAS, LEAA funds are available in the amount of
$14 ,700 and State funds are available in the amount of $7, 350
to construct additional juvenile cells for the detention
facility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. City funds in the amount of $7 , 351 are
hereby committed as the City' s matching funds for construction
of additional juvenile cells for the detention facility.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption.
