A RESOLUTION WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A
CONTRACT TO THE PORTER-CRAWFORD COMPANY OF
LITTLE ROCK TO ERECT A KIRBY METAL
BUILDING FOR SANITATION COLLECTION OPERA-
TIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, an exceptional situation exists in that the
Porter-Crawford Company of Little Rock is the local franchise
dealer for Kirby buildings and as such have the specialized
professional engineering capability and equipment necessary
to erect a Kirby building .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . An exceptional situation is hereby declared
to exist in the case of a contract for the erection of a
Kirby building due to the fact that Porter-Crawford Company
of Little Rock is the local franchise dealer of such
buildings and as the dealer has the special expertise
necessary to properly erect a Kirby building.
SECTION 2 . Competitive bidding is hereby waived in
the awarding of a contract for erection of a Kirby building
due to the exceptional situation described above.
SECTION 3 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to
award a contract to the Porter-Crawford Company of Little Rock
in the amount of $15 , 934. 00 using funds from Account No.
599-8504-801 , Sanitation Relocation Project .
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption and approval .
