6367 F f RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 367 A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE PURPOSES AND PROVISIONS OF TITLE VIII OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1968 (P.L. 90-284 ) ; INDICATING THE INTENT OF THE CITY TO PROMOTE KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE VIII; DIRECTING THE OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TO ASSIST ALL COMPLAINANTS IN FILING COMPLAINTS WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors to endorse the purposes and provisions of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (P.L. 90-284 ) ; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City to promote knowledge of the provisions of Title VIII and to encourage anyone who feels that he or she has been discriminated against in the sale, rental or financing of housing within the City of Little Rock to seek assistance from the City ' s Office of Human Resources; and WHEREAS; it is the desire of the Board of Directors to direct the Office of Human Resources to assist all complainants who desire to file a complaint with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1 . The purposes and provisions of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 (P.L. 90-284 ) are hereby endorsed . SECTION 2. The Board of Directors hereby express the intent of the City to promote knowledge of the provisions of Title VIII. SECTION 3. The Office of Human Resources is hereby directed to assist all complainants who desire to file a complaint with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to do so , and the Office of Human Resources is further directed to follow up on all complaints to ascertain what response and results have been forthcoming .
