6302 RESOLUTION NO. 6 , 302
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING LITTLE ROCK
FIRE DEPARTMENT CAPTAIN W.A. DAVIS FOR
HIS DEVOTION TO DUTY AND HIS FELLOWMAN:
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Fire Department has , over the
years , gained the respect and goodwill of the citizens of
Little Rock for its unequaled professionalism and service to
the City, and
WHEREAS , the men of the Little Rock Fire Department
daily place duty and the protection of life and property
above all else , and
WHEREAS, on February 26 , 1980, Captain W.A. Davis
distinguished himself while fighting a fire by catching and
breaking the fall of a fellow firefighter falling from a
ladder, and through quick thinking and disregard for his own
safety prevented this individual from sustaining any
injuries , and in this selfless act of heroism did sustain
painful neck injuries .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors , on behalf of the
citizens of Little Rock, do hereby recognize
Captain W.A. Davis for his actions and do heartily commend
him for his devotion to duty and his fellowman.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors extend their personal
condolences for the injuries sustained by Captain W.A. Davis
and wish him a speedy recovery.
