3 A RESOLUTION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO MELCHOR
4 CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR THE PULASKI HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY
5 SRTS (2013) AHTD JOB #061366 SIDEWALKS IMPROVEMENTS, IN
6 THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-ONE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED
7 NINETEEN AND 20/100 DOLLARS ($71,119.20); AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Pulaski Heights Elementary PTA and the Arkansas Highway and Transportation
11 Department(AHTD) requested that the City of Little Rock sponsor design and construction for their Safe
12 Route to School Grant for sidewalk improvements; and,
13 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for Pulaski Heights Elementary SRTS (2013) AHTD Job #061366
14 Sidewalks Improvements, Bid No. 13758, and Melchor Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive and
15 responsible bid meeting specifications in the amount of Seventy-One Thousand, One Hundred Nineteen
16 and 20/100 Dollars ($71,119.20), being Fifty-Nine Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty-Six Dollars
17 ($59,266.00)plus 20%contingencies;
18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Melchor
21 Construction, Inc., for Pulaski Heights Elementary SRTS (2013) AHTD Job #061366 Sidewalks
22 Improvements, Bid No. 13758.
23 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from AHTD Safe Routes to School Grant Funds.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
31 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
