13755 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,755 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH ALEXANDER OPEN SYSTEMS IN THE 5 AMOUNT OF EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY- 6 EIGHT AND 30/100 DOLLARS ($82,988.30), TO PURCHASE SWITCHES 7 AND A ROUTER TO UPGRADE SWITCHES AT SOME OF THE CITY'S 8 MAJOR FACILITIES, UTILIZING THE ARKANSAS STATE 9 PURCHSING CONTRACT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department needs to upgrade the switches at some of the 12 City's major facilities; and, 13 WHEREAS, Cisco has offered to give a $16,799.39 trade-in value for City equipment that is no 14 longer operational to be applied toward the purchase price of the new equipment; and, 15 WHEREAS, by utilizing the Arkansas State Purchasing Contract, the Information Technology 16 Department can purchase switches and router at a cost of Eighty-Two Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty- 17 Eight and 30/100 Dollars($82,988.30), plus taxes and shipping; 18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 21 Alexander Open Systems for the purchase of switches and router required by the Information Technology 22 Department to upgrade equipment at some of the City's major facilities for the amount of Eighty-Two 23 Thousand,Nine Hundred Eighty-Eight and 30/100 Dollars($82,988.30), plus taxes and shipping. 24 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available as follows: Public Works Administration: 204001- , 25 63211; Planning Special Projects: 210339-60101-S000480; Information Technology Operational Sales 26 Tax: 103001-72400; Zoo: 108659-S71B526; and Courts: 210229-S00B166. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 33 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
