13751 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 13,751 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH PLAY AND PARK STRUCTURES FOR THE 5 PURCHASE OF A PLAYGROUND COMPONENT SYSTEM FOR 6 GRANITE HEIGHTS PARK IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY-SIX 7 THOUSAND TWENTY-THREE AND 05/100 DOLLARS ($96,023.05); AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has been working with Granite Mountain 11 Quarries and the local neighborhood to make improvements to Granite Heights Park; and, 12 WHEREAS, Granite Mountain Quarries has donated a new Forty-Five Thousand Dollar 13 ($45,000.00) pavilion to the park, removed a closed restroom facility, provided many other maintenance 14 hours in the park in recent years, and has donated Ninety-Six Thousand, Twenty-Three and 05/100 15 Dollars($96,023.05)to the City for purchase of a new playground component system for Granite Heights 16 Park; and, 17 WHEREAS, several public meetings were held in order to solicit feedback for the renovation to the 18 park; and, 19 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received a bid through State Contract TIPS/TAPS #6111512 by 20 vendor Play and Park Structures in the amount of Ninety-Six Thousand, Twenty-Three and 05/100 21 Dollars ($96,023.05) for the purchase of new playground component system, which bid was determined 22 to be responsive and responsible, and staff recommends that the contract be awarded to Play and Park 23 Structures; 24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 26 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 27 Play and Park Structures in the amount of Ninety-Six Thousand, Twenty-Three and 05/100 Dollars 28 ($96,023.05)for the purchase of a new playground component system for Granite Heights Park. 29 Section 2. A private donation from Granite Mountain Quarries is providing the funding for this 30 purchase. 31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 34 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the [Page 1 of 2] 1 resolution. 2 Section 4. Repealer.
