6076 RESOLUTION NO. 6,076
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LOCAL DETERMINATION USE OF
FUNDS FOR CETA PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
TREAS, the central Arkansas CETA Program has requested the U.S .
Department of Labor to waive the requirements that all CETA participants
must receive monetary renumeration while in a classroom vocational train-
ing program; and
TI1EREAS, the U.S. Department of Labor has strongly indicated it
does not feel that this waiver is an issue of local determination; and
TA EREAS, the legislation regulations are clear that a prime
sponsor has the right to such a waiver; and
WHEREAS , the prime sponsor's right to this approach has received
the unanimous consent from CACETA, program operators, local businesses,
industry, and the Manpower Planning Advisory Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITHE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. That the Board of Directors supports local determination
in the City's right to operate programs to best fit our local needs.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
