A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MR. CHARLES R. COOKE
WHEREAS, in 1937 Franklin D. Roosevelt was serving in his
second term as President of the United States , Amelia Earhart
disappeared on a flight around the world, Joe DiMaggio hit
forty-six home runs and on March 22 of 1937, Charles R. "Bob"
Cooke started working in the Street Department of the City of
Little Rock as a truck driver; and
WHEREAS , since that day in March of 1937 , Bob Cooke has
worked for the City of Little Rock, and for more than forty years,
he has been the type of employee every employer wants with him,
faithful, loyal, steady, reliable, and dependable; and
WHEREAS, Bob Cooke is retiring and the Board of Directors,
on behalf of the City of Little Rock, and his many associates,
would like to express thanks to Bob Cooke for his many years of
dedicated employment with the City and appreciation for his many
years of yeoman' s service.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby expresses thanks and
appreciation to Charles R. "Bob" Cooke for serving the City of
Little Rock for over forty years with loyalty and devotion, stead-
fastness and probity. Our respect and admiration is yours and
you will be long remembered.
SECTION 2 . May you look back on these past years with true
satisfaction, for you have performed your duty well. May the
years of retirement be filled with peace and blessings unbounded
for you and your family .
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
