A RESOLUTION OF CODM9ENDATION TO ANNA PA IERSON
WHEREAS, since the summer of 1975 Anna Patterson has given voluntarily of her
time, energies and talents beneficial to the Little Rock Zoo, the City, the County
and the State as a whole in the following particular undertakings:
a) She developed an educational program at the Little Rock Zoo and has given
over twenty-five hours a week for eleven months toward implementation of the
educational program.
b) She developed a training manual and a thirty hour training course for
twenty-six volunteer teachers of persons concerned and interested in the Zoo. In
this connection more than 15,000 children have benefited from guided tours at the
Zoo;
and
WHEREAS, she has made herself available to the general public answering questions
about the animals in the Zoo as well as wildlife in Arkansas and has handled much
of the public relations for the Zoo with the news media together with editing the
monthly newsletter for the Friends of the Zoo; and
WHEREAS, she has coordinated office activities at the Zoo and planned the
program for the Southern Regional Workshop of the American Association for Zoos and
Aquatic Parks held in Little Rock April 17, 1977 through April 20, 1977; and
WHEREAS, she is now developing self-guided tours for visitors of the Zoo and
has assisted in the development of signs at the Zoo; and all of the aforementioned
voluntary work has come to pass because of her dedication to the Zoo and her desire
to make it an interesting and educational experience for all its visitors.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The Little Rock Zoo, the City, the County, and even the State,
have and are benefiting immeasurably from the voluntary efforts of Anna Patterson
designed to improve the Little Rock Zoo in every particular, and bring about more
interest in and appreciation for this fine facility. She is hereby commended for
a successful effort for which we are all grateful.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
