5713 RESOLUTION NO 5,713
WHEREAS , under the leadership of Mr. Sheffield Nelson, the
governmental Taskforce of the Bandwagon organization for the
expansion of Central Arkansas convention and meeting facilities
was successful in their endeavor to have the 1977 Arkansas
General Assembly understand and appreciate the benefits which
would accrue both locally and statewide to the visitor industry
in that the Tourist Facilities Assistance law was enacted and
signed by the Governor as Act 763, Acts of Arkansas of 1977
which makes it possible for this community to plan for and seek a
greater share of the convention and visitor industry.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1 . Mr. Sheffield Nelson and the governmental Task-
force of the Bandwagon organization for expansion of Central
Arkansas convention and meeting facilities , which he headed, are
hereby commended for the yeoman service rendered to this com-
munity and state in bringing about the enactment of Act 763,
Acts of Arkansas of 1977 , same being known as "City-County
Tourist Meeting and Entertainment Facilities Assistance Law. "
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
