A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY OF DISABILITY
BENEFITS FOR NONUNIFORM EMPLOYEES; REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 4, 835; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . Nonuniform employees of the City of Little Rock, injured
in the line of duty, who are determined by a City Health Officer to be
disabled shall be entitled to receive payment of his or her full salary
provided for at the time of injury together with all related medical
costs for a maximum period of 180 calendar days from the date of injury.
Provided, however, that accrued sick leave benefits for any such employee
together with payments made to such employee from Workmen 's Compensation
insurance shall first be offset against the payments to be made by the
City.
SECTION 2 . A nonuniform employee of the City of Little Rock who is
determined by a City Health Officer to be disabled resultant to a nonjob
related cause and who subsequent thereto makes application for disability
benefits under the City ' s disability insurance plan as provided for by
Section 2-24 of the Code of Ordinances shall, commencing with the date
of disability, be entitled to receive payment from the City first based
upon his accrued sick leave and vacation and thereafter for the balance
of 180 calendar days from the date of disability at the rate of 60% of
the employee ' s salary on the date of disability . No payment shall be
made after a finding of nondisability by the City' s disability insurance
carrier nor shall payments be made after benefits commence through and
by the said disability insurance carrier. This Section of this Reso-
lution shall become effective January 1, 1977 .
SECTION 3 . Disability as herein provided for is defined as that
incapacitation due to injury or illness which renders an employee incapable
of engaging in his/her present occupation or employment for a period of
time not less than six months .
SECTION 4 . It shall be the responsibility of the Personnel Depart-
ment to provide the Department of Finance that information relating to

accrued sick leave, vacation and Workmen ' s Compensation for which the
City is to take credit in the making of payments to disabled employees
on a regular basis so that payrolls from and after the effective date
of this resolution can be made consistent with provisions of this
Resolution.
SECTION 5 . Resolution No. 4, 835 of the Board of Directors adopted
July 18, 1972 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 6 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
