A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PROCEED WITH PROJECT PLANNING FOR A CENTRAL
SERVICE CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, an interim report submitted by SUA to the City of
Little Rock regarding the City 's space needs recommended the con-
solidation of several field functions into a Central Service
Center at the Little Rock Material Yard; and
WHEREAS, There may exist, through HR 5247, an opportunity to
obtain major funding of this public works capital development pro-
ject; and
WHEREAS, the potential opportunity afforded by this legis-
lation suggests the City should attempt to capitalize upon it
for the benefit of field operations and therefore immediate action
is necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes and
directs the City Manager to proceed with project planning for a
Central Service Center, and in particular, commence with the
following:
1) Obtain acreage requirements for the Center from SUA
2) Proceed with site acquisition adjacent to the present
Material Yard
3) Negotiate with SUA for project planning services;
4) Upon recommendation of SUA hire local architect for
design services;
5) Prepare application for submission to Secretary of
Commerce
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
