A RESOLUTION OF THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO
ALL THE NEWS MEDIA; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , for some time much work and effort has been
exerted by the City of Little Rock and by many others who are
interested in the orderly growth of this City toward the goal
of bringing approximately fifty-five square miles of lands
outside the corporate limits of Little Rock within its
boundaries ; and
WHEREAS, on November 13 , 1975 an election was held wherein
the majority of citizens in the City of Little Rock and the pro-
posed annexed area voted affirmatively for annexation of the
said lands to the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the news media is all too infrequently thanked for
the public services they perform; and
WHEREAS, at this time the Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock would like to express their thanks to all of the
news media for the public service performed by informing and
acquainting the public with the issues involved in the annexa-
tion of these lands to the City of Little Rock.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock expresses "Thanks" and offer their sincere appreciation
to the local news media for the public service performed in
acquainting and informing the general public with all the
issues involved in the annexation of approximately fifty-five
square miles of land to the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
