5439 r RESOLUTION NO 5,439 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS FOR STREET AND DRAINAGE WORK FOR THE JOHN BARROW AREA; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS, by Resolution #5 ,427 adopted by the Board of Directors October 7 , 1975 , the Community Development Block Grant projects and budget for the 1975-76 year were approved; and; WHEREAS , one of the said projects approved at that time was for street and drainage work in the John Barrow area; however, the Report outlining the specific street and drainage work to be performed was not completed. Said Report is now complete and is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" to this Reso- lution. NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK , ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock hereby approve the plans for street and drainage work to be done in the John Barrow area as set out in Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM Interim Drainage - This project includes improvement of the two major drainages in the area known as the 33rd and 36th Street outlets into Rock Creek, as indicated in green on the attached map. Existing structures at street crossings which unduly restrict flows will be replaced with new structures (bridges or cutve:_ts) • designed to accommodate flows from the one in 10-_ year design storm. The channel of the 33rd Street drainage would be cleaned out and reshaped between Barrow Road and Rock Creek as necessary to increase the operatim; efficiency to the range of 40% to 50% of the capacity required for the design storm. The channel of the 36th Street drainage will al!-4) be cleaned out and reshaped between Barrow Road and Rock Creek to provide an efficiency of 40% to 50%. Between Holt_ Street and Barrow Road it will be improved to the range of a minimum of 34% efficiency. Streets - Street improvements are indicated in red on the attached map. Three (3) blocks of street cons- truction will provide for a width to 27 feet, with standard base course and hot asphalt mix surfacing, with curb and gutter and underground sto;^m drainage and 23 blocks of street cons- truction will provide for a width of 20 feet of • standard base course with hot asphalt mix surfacing, stabliized shoulders and roadside ditches. (Enclosure 2) • JOHN BARROW AREA Page 2 Water Facilities - These facilities are planned as a project in Area I only, and includes installation of public lines in inhabited areas to serve residents not now served.7 and to replace private lines.
