A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO MS. SUSIE
COURTNEY AND VALUE
WHEREAS, since the annexation approved by the voters in
1973 was voided by Court decision, a group of people residing
in that annexed area organized themselves as "Voluntary
Annexation League for United Effort (VALUE) under the leader-
ship of Ms. Susie Courtney and worked to bring about the volun-
tary annexation of the lands approved in said election; and
WHEREAS, all persons participating in the VALUE movement
now are anxious to support another annexation election.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. Ms . Susie Courtney and all persons participating
in the effort of VALUE to bring about a voluntary annexation to
the City of Little Rock of various lands contiguous thereto are
hereby commended for yeoman services and their efforts are hereby
solicited to bring about a favorable vote by the people in an
election to be called for the purpose of annexing certain lands
to the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
