A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
REPAIR OF A 977L CATERPILLAR LOADER;
WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING; AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , a 977L Caterpillar loader owned by the City of
Little Rock and assigned for use to the Little Rock Landfill
is now inoperable and in need of repair; and
WHEREAS , inasmuch as J .A. Riggs Tractor Company is the
only known supplier of parts for said caterpillar and it is
urgent that this machine be put back into operation as soon
as possible; and
WHEREAS , it has been estimated that repairs will cost
$6 ,788 . 62 .
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. A contract for repairs of a 977L Caterpillar
loader owned by the City of Little Rock is hereby awarded to
J. A. Riggs Tractor Company for an estimated contract price of
$6 ,788. 62 , parts and labor.
SECTION 2 . The repair of said caterpillar is determined
by the Board of Directors to be an exceptional situation
justifying the waiving of competitive bidding and said compet-
itive bidding is hereby waived.
SECTION 3 . Upon completion of the repair work to the
satisfaction of the Director of Community Development, the
City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized
and directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants in
payment thereof. Funds for said repairs are provided for
in the 1975 Budget for the Sanitary Landfill.
SECTION 4 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
