RESOLUTION NO. 5,168
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE REVISED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE UNIVERSITY
PARK URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, ARK R-51 TO ADD A
PROVISION WHICH PROHIBITS REDEVELOPMENT OF PROJECT
LAND FOR TRANSIENT HOUSING PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, hereinafter called "Housing Authority" is undertaking
and executing activities in accordance with the Urban Renewal Plan
for the University Park Urban Renewal Project, ARK R-51, pursuant
to a Loan and Capital Grant Contract with the United States of
America, dated August 31, 1964, through the Department of Housing
and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the Revised Urban Renewal Plan dated May 15, 1973 ,
for the University Park Project contains a provision permitting
redevelopment of any project land for transient housing purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the Revised Urban Renewal Plan dated March 19 , 1974,
for the University Park Project, ARK R-51 contains a provision pro-
hibiting redevelopment of any project land for transient housing
purposes; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Housing Authority that
it is desirable, beneficial to and in the best interests of the
Housing Authority and the City of Little Rock, in carrying out the
Revised Urban Renewal Plan dated March 19, 1974, to prohibit transient
housing facilities to be constructed within the Project Area on
project land;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
That it is hereby found and determined, that the Revised Urban
Renewal Plan dated March 19, 1974, for the University Park Urban
lommgve
Renewal Project, ARK R-51, be approved to prohibit redevelopment
of land within the project for transient housing purposes.
