5107 RESOLUTION NO. 5,107
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EXECUTION OF A RESTRICTIVE COVENANT FOR OPEN-
SPACE PURPOSES BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS , PERTAINING TO THE MERIWETHER PARK,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas , has entered into
a Contract with the United States of America on May 6 , 1971, for the
acquisition of an open-space grant pertaining to the following des-
cribed lands to be used as a park:
Lot 20 , Block 14, Riffel & Rhoton ' s Forest Park Highlands
Addition to the City of Little Rock , Pulaski County, Ark.
and
That part of Block 11, Riffel & Rhoton ' s Forest Park Highland
Addition, not platted as Hall Cove Addition #2, lying South
thereof; all of Block 14, Riffel & Rhoton ' s Forest Park High-
land Addition, except Lot 20; all of Block 19 Riffel & Rhoton ' s
Forest Park Highland Addition including platted rights-of-way
now abandoned, which includes 30 feet for Texas Street, 30
feet for Alabama Street and 20 feet for "L" Street; Except a
tract in Southwest corner described as Beginning at the South-
west corner of Block 19 , Riffel and Rhoton ' s Forest Park High-
land Addition; thence North 0 degrees 50 min. West 160 . 0 feet;
thence North 89 degrees 47 min. East 101 . 7 feet; thence South
0 degrees 13 min. East 180 .2 feet; thence South 89 degrees 47
min. West 99 . 8 feet; thence North 0 degrees 50 min. West 20
feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2 . The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby agrees that
it will not hereafter sell, lease or otherwise transfer the above des-
cribed lands or any interest therein without the prior written approval
of the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development of the United States
of America, his designee , or any successor thereto.
SECTION 3 . The Mayor of the City of Little Rock,- Arkansas, is
hereby authorized to execute a Restrictive Covenant on behalf of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas , and the City Clerk is hereby authorized
to attest same and place the seal thereon, to comply with the provisions
of said contract.
SECTION 4 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
