A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
GASOLINE , DIESEL FUEL , ASPHALT AND ASPHALT
PRODUCTS FOR THE YEAR 1974 ; WAIVING THE
FORMALITIES OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock has advertised for bids
for the purchase during the year 1974 of gasoline , diesel fuel ,
oil, asphalt and asphalt products but has been unable to attract
bidders from any source for any of said products ; and
WHEREAS , American Oil Company, Gulf Oil Company, Lion Oil
Company, APT Construction Company and Ben Hogan Company have
informally agreed to supply such of said products as may be
available from time to time throughout 1974 at prices then to
be posted; and
WHEREAS , the conditions and circumstances found to exist
with relation to fuels of all kinds together with asphalt
and asphalt allied products creates a special situation dic-
tating the waiving of competitive bidding in the formal sense.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. For the year 1974 , the City Manager is hereby
authorized to make purchases as the needs demand from time to
time for gasoline, oil , diesel products , asphalt and asphalt
allied products from the American Oil Company, Gulf Oil Company,
Lion Oil Company, APT Construction Company and Ben Hogan Com-
pany at the lowest possible price per unit posted at the time
of each such purchase. That such purchase price shall be the
lowest as quoted in writing at the time of purchase by the
supplier.
SECTION 2 . It is found and determined that conditions
prevailing in the shortage of supply for fuels of all kinds
creates a special situation dictating the formalities of com-
petetive bidding be waived and such is hereby waived.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
