A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAKING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE BUREAU OF OUTDOOR
RECREATION FOR FUNDS TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP
MOREHART PARK SITE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock, Arkansas seeks to acquire
and improve recreational facilities in its City and desires to
have Federal assistance where possible and in particular with
regard to Morehart Park site situated in an area planned for
annexation to the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS , in order to obtain the funds necessary to acquire
and develop the site for such recreational area it is necessary
to obtain a grant from the appropriate agency of the United
States government; and
WHEREAS , the plans for the development of such recreational
area have been prepared and the price thereof has been established;
and
WHEREAS , the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas is well aware and apprised of the above mentioned pro-
ject and that the City of Little Rock , Arkansas will provide
the local portion of the acquisition and development cost of
the entire project and that said recreation area shall be dedi-
cated and maintained perpetually as a recreation facility.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of Little Rock or other
persons acting by and under his direction are hereby authorized
to make application through the Arkansas Planning Commission
to the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, United States Department
of Interior, for assistance to acquire and develop the recrea-
tional facility for the City of Little Rock identified as
Morehart Park site and directs that such application be sub-
mitted as expeditiously as possible.

SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption .
