4882 RESOLUTION NO. 4,882
A RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF THE PUBLIC
SERVICE OF JOHN EMERY ARNOLD; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS , the inevitable has occurred and John Emery Arnold,
Assistant City Manager for the City of Little Rock , is resigning
his position and accepting a promotion as City Manager of Minot,
North Dakota; and,
WHEREAS , John Arnold, since March 3 , 1969 , as Assistant to
City Manager John T. Meriwether, has been most instrumental in
all programs of progress which have been realized in this City
unquestionably reflecting the imagination, intellect and pro-
fessional dedication of this acknowledged professional in the
field of City Management; and,
WHEREAS , while it is acknowledged that the position of
Assistant City Manager as such is only a phase of the develop-
ment and professional progress of those pursuing the profession
and that the loss of Mr. Arnold was inevitable, nonetheless ,
the City regrets his leaving and yet wishes for him and his
family every success , both personal and professionally.
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby extends the appre-
ciation of all in the City of Little Rock to John Emery Arnold
for yeoman service as assistant to the City Manager of the City
of Little Rock since March 3 , 1969 . His loss will be keenly felt.
SECTION 2 . It is with pride that the City of Little Rock
extends congratulations to Mr. Arnold in being chosen City Manager
of Minot , North Dakota and wishes for him and his family health ,
happiness and professional success. Further, may he reflect with
personal pleasure upon his life and experiences while in the City
of Little Rock.

SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
