A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DEDICATION DEED FROM
THE LITTLE ROCK HOUSING AUTHORITY TO A TRACT
OF LAND FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A PARK FOR THE EAST
LITTLE ROCK COMMUNITY COMPLEX; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby accepts a
Dedication Deed by the Little Rock Housing Authority for
property to develop a park for the East Little Rock Com-
munity Complex. Said Dedication Deed shall be in form and
substance as follows :

DEDICATION DEED
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
That the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
a corporation organized under and by virtue of the laws of the State
of Arkansas , Grantor, by its Chairman of the Board of Commissioners
and its Secretary, for valuable consideration, the receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged, does hereby dedicate, grant, sell and quit-
claim unto the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, Grantee, and unto its
successors and assigns forever, the following described land situated
in the County of Pulaski, State of Arkansas , to-wit:
A tract of land situated in the SE u, Section 1, Township
1 North, Range 12 West, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas,
which includes part of the N z of Lot 5, Pope's 1000 Acre
Grant, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest corner of the N z of said
Lot 5 ; thence East 70 feet; thence N 8° E 273 feet to the
point of beginning; thence N 8° E 487.8 feet; thence S 83°
30' E 609 .8 feet; thence N 8° E 6116.5 feet to the existing
South bank of the Arkansas River (date of deed 10/29/65) ;
thence S 85° 00' E along said bank 253 .5 feet; thence S 80°
10' E 363 .5 feet along said South bank; thence S 81° 10' E
320.8 feet along said South bank; thence S 7° 59' W along
the West line of Harrington Street 565 feet to the Southeast
corner of Block 4 Weil's Addition; thence Westerly along
the South line of said Block 4 a distance of 300 feet to a
point on the East line of said Lot 5; thence S 7° 42 ' W
11.9 feet; thence N 83° 30' W 20 feet; thence S 7° 42' W
parallel to and 20 feet West of the East line of said Lot 5,
a distance of 15.6 feet to a point; thence N 89° 52' W a
distance of 582.2 feet; thence S 16° 42 ' W 370.1 feet;
thence S 9° 30' W a distance of 80.5 feet to a point on the
North line of East Sixth Street; thence N 87° 33 ' W along
said North line of East Sixth Street 602.4 feet; thence
N 8° E 62 .6 feet; thence East 8 feet to the point of beginning
containing 21.39 acres ,more or less and all lands , if any,
located North and adjoining the above described tract of
land and South of the Arkansas River, including all accretions
to the above described tract.
TO HAVE AND HOLD the same unto the said City of Little Rock,
Arkansas , and unto its successors and assigns forever.
Grantee, as part of the consideration hereof, also agrees to
the following as covenants running with the land:
(a) To devote the property only for use as a public use
area in accordance with the Neighborhood Development
Program, ARK A-9, dated June 1, 1972 , on file in the
office of the City Clerk, Little Rock, Pulaski County,
Arkansas. Provided, however, the Grantee, its successors
and assigns shall use said land for a period of twenty
years for said purposes.
(b) Not to discriminate upon the basis of race , color, creed
or national origin in the sale , lease or rental or in
the use or occupancy of the property or any improvements
erected or to be erected thereon, or any part thereof.
The United States of America shall be a beneficiary of
the foregoing covenant and is entitled to enforce it.
The Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
hereby covenants with said City of Little Rock, Arkansas, that it
will forever warrant and defend the title to said lands against all
claims and encumbrances done or suffered by it, but against none
other.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the name of the Grantor is hereunto affixed
by the Chairman of its Board of Commissioners and its seal affixed by
its Secretary this 18th day of July , 1972.

and Ben F. Scroggin, Jr. , to me personally well known, who stated that
they were the Chairman and Secretary, respectively, of the Housing
Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , a corporation, and
were duly authorized in their respective capacities to execute the
foregoing instrument for and in the name and behalf of said corporation,
and further stated and acknowledged that they had so signed, executed
and delivered said foregoing instrument for the consideration, uses
and purposes therein mentioned and set forth.
