4840 RESOLUTION NO. 4,840 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY MINUTE ORDER NO. 72-298 PASSED JUNE 28 , 1972 ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . 1 SECTION 1. That certain Minute Order No. 72-298 of the Arkansas State Highway Department passed June 28 , 1972 con- sisting of two pages , a copy of which is attached hereto as an Exhibit granting the City of Little Rock permission to proceed with plans to widen and improve Geyer Springs Road in the City and thus alleviate the heavy -raffic congestion in that area, is hereby accepted. SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. ADOPTED: July 18, 1972 ATTEST : g/1'LG APPROVED : I ty Cler Mayor ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT MINUTE ORDER PULASKI County Page 1 of 2 pages • District Number 6 WHEREAS, Section 106 of the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1970 authorized the establishment of a new Federal Aid Urban System in each urbanized area of over 50 , 000 population and apportioned Federal Aid Urban System Funds for improvements thereon; and WHEREAS, routes on the Urban System are to be selected by the appropriate local governments and the State Highway Departments subject to the approval of the Secretary of Transportation; and WHEREAS, Geyer Springs Road in the City of Little Rock from Baseline Road north to 65th Street has been. approved as an addi- tion to the Federal Aid Urban System; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock and Pulaski County have jointly • requested that this project be considered as a`high priority street improvement under the Federal Aid Urban System Program; and WHEREAS, the City and County have agreed by letter dated May 16 , 1972 , to share equally in the 50% local matching share of the total project cost; and WHEREAS, the City has estimated that the total cost of the improve- ment project will amount to $948,000 .00 , including $249 ,285.00 for right-of-way. • a 1 • • • S r + ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT • MINUTE ORDER PULA.SKI County Page_l_of 2 pages District Number 6 NOW THEREFORE, the Director is authorized to proceed with necessary actions to implement this Federal Aid Urban System Project on Geyer Springs Road in Little Rock from Baseline Road north to 65th Street, a distance of approximately 1.5 miles, at a total estimated cost of $948,000 .00 . This action is subject to the following conditions : 1. Availability of Federal Aid Urban System Funds in the amount of $474 ,000 . 00 and local matching funds in the amount of $474, 000 .00 . 2 . Appropriate approval by the Federal Highway Administration. 3. Participation in the acquisition of right-of-way costs shall be limited to $125, 000 .00 in Federal Aid Urban System Funds. 4 .
